Version 681 Donor Windows XP sp3
If I use Quick filter to filter for .zip archives in a directory in My Documents, it locates 233 files. The contents of the archives can be viewed normally and opened in FC.
If I define a filter using the Regular Expression .*\.(?i)zip$ it finds the same 233 files, but they cannot be viewed, the folder tab is blank. However, files located with similar Regular Expressions for .xls, .pdf files, etc. can be viewed and opened normally.
Is there something I am missing causing this to happen?
Thank you.
681 - Regular Expression Filters & Archives
Re: 681 - Regular Expression Filters & Archives
It is not a bug.
If your filter is active and you open one zip file - your filter is still active. Switch off the filter and you can see the content.
Quick filter has the option "Deactivate filter on folder change" and if you open one zip file - quick filter will be deactivated.

I see how it works now. I have Quick filter set up to deactivate on folder change, and I was thinking it would work the same way. I notice now also that this type of filter affects both panes, while the Quick filter only affects the active one.
