Danger "Defaults" button in keyboard shortcuts dialog

#1 Post by Dreamer » 12.01.2014, 17:23

In Keyboard shortcuts dialog, there is a very danger button - "Defaults". It's together with the buttons "assign" and "remove", which affect only current shortcut, so it looks it affects only current shortcut too - but it affects ALL shortcuts and there is NO warning dialog!

I suggest to add a warning dialog with the clear text that ALL custom shortcuts will be restored, perhaps the button name should be "Restore defaults". The button "NO" should be focused by default (No, I don't want to restore all shortcut).

"Defaults" is plural but you are right, the warning message make sense at that place.

it's really dangerous, and I managed to delete all my customized shortcuts this way.

I'd suggest to remove that button from its current position and place it next to the button "Shortcuts list..." AND show a warning message

I thought about completely remove that option - and replace it with "default" button, to restore the current hotkey only, it makes more sense, I wanted to restore 1 hotkey when I restored all, in one FC copy for normal user, luckily I had a backup.

I think, why would anyone wants to restore all its custom hotkeys? It is still possible by a clean install or deleting the FreeCommander.shc file while FC is closed.

BTW Backup... never mind, I'll create a new topic.
