Can I use my old settings INI file?

#1 Post by DaveF » 29.05.2013, 20:16

Hi
Started using XE today. I tried to use my old settings INI file from 2009.b. With XE closed down I copied it to the folder that XE is using (I checked in the setting dialog):
C:\Users\_\AppData\Local\FreeCommanderXE\Settings

I reopened XE but didn't display my usual layout etc. I closed XE & it overwrote the previous INI, so I definitely know it's in the correct folder.

Is this not possible or am I doing something wrong?

The short answer is: not possible.

Is there a long answer?

Seems strange (& mildly laborious) it can't be done considering they're the same format & contain the same data.

Cheers

The ini file in XE is not structured the same as in 2009, it contains different data; there are more separate settings files now:

OK, Thanks.

Well that's the rest of the evening gone setting up all the options I changed & trying to remember the one's I've forgotten. :(
