FC will let you drag a folder tab from one panel to the next. Problem is that you don't get any kind of overlay icon to let you know it is working - until - you happen to drag over an existing tab, or you pause for a moment over the tabbar and then begin to move again.
I think you should get a nice overlay icon like when you drag a file from FC to some other application window, or when you drag a file, or when you drag a folder from a folder panel onto the tabbar.
I also think that you should get a little triangle to pop up to mark the spot where you want to move the tab to, like when you move a tab to another position in the same panel.
Also, if you drag a folder onto the tabbar, it will open the folder. But if your tabbar is full, you don't have anywhere to drag it to. I think that when you drag a folder over the tabs in the tabbar, you ought to get the little "positioning arrow" when you hover in-between the tabs, and the "move" arrow when you hover over the tabs.

Re: Dragging tabs to other panels
Ralf, there are two modes at work here.
Try dragging a folder to the tabbar in the SAME panel.
Now, try dragging a tab to the tabbar in the OTHER panel.
You just wanted to show off your colorful tabs!

No, then I think I misunderstood you question.
For my system: I have overlay icons with each operation.
