604 - error when resizing columns

#1 Post by AimHere » 28.10.2012, 16:29

Hi,

In the donor preview release 604, when I attempt to resize any of the columns in the file-list panel, I get "An error has occurred in the application" message (no matter which column I am resizing or in which direction). If I click "continue" the error message pops up again... click "continue" a second time, and the column is resized without further errors. I can continue using FCXE, but the next time I try to resize a column, I get the errors again.

This is fully repeatable. However, it only happens when I am actually viewing the contents of a drive or folder... if I am viewing "Computer" (the list of drives and devices), or
Desktop", I can resize the columns without the error.

I am running release 604 on Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit, fully-patched through Windows Update. I have a homebuilt PC (Phenom II X4 955 CPU, Gigabyte m/b, 8GB RAM, multiple hard drives, nvidia Geforce GTX 460 video).

I can confirm the bug. It is already fixed for the release 605.

The exception appears only if you have no columns view defined (Settings->Custom columns).

Thanks. Sure enough, I created a custom columns set and made it first in the list of custom views, and the problem went away.

Still, nice to know the problem's being addressed.
