Swap 'em feature request

#1 Post by BGM » 30.03.2012, 02:30

Salvete! I found this application called "Swap 'em" at https://softwarespot.wordpress.com/software/swapem/

It lets you select two files and swap their filenames. This would be an excellent function to build into FreeCommander.

Marek, please consider this an actual feature request.

I think another feature that could be useful would be "duplicate file" - sort of like an automated copy and paste, except that we should be able to set the option for naming on the duplicated file. Or perhaps it could copy the file and automatically open it for renaming? Perhaps ctrl+d would be a good hotkey for it? I often have to copy and paste a file and then rename it.

Anybody like to second my proposal?

I think the feature would be easy to implement, and could go right into the File menu.

Swap'em is free, portable and written by a friend! :)
It's easy to use and easy to add to a FC toolbar.
So, right now, I don't really feel the need for this action to be built into FC directly... I wouldn't mind it, though.
