rar archives

#1 Post by BGM » 21.10.2011, 20:01

Salvete! Uh, I can't figure out how to get FCXE 558 to look in a .rar archive. If I remember correctly, old FC would do it if you added .rar to its archive extension filter. I think it would also look in .xpi archives too. How can I get functionality for .rar?

I use Total7zip plugin for .rar archives:

Ah, I see you tried the other 7zip archiver too, and I see it is also unchecked! Mine didn't work either. But Total7z works just fine! Thanks!

Other way round for me. 7zip.wcx works fine but total7zip.wcx crashes FCXE.

Out of interest, if you add RAR to the list of supported extensions for fc_internal_zip, (and without any WCX plugins added), I can create and read a RAR file that is compressed although I couldn't read an externally created RAR file.

I'm therefore not clear whether fc_internal_zip supports RAR or not. Comments anyone?
