Editing items in archives

#1 Post by BGM » 24.11.2011, 05:07

Salvete! In 7zip, we can open an archive and edit the contents of a text file and 7zip will let us save the changes back into the archive. In FC, we can enter the archive, and view the contents in the folder tabs. We can also open text files, edit them and save them. But nothing happens in the save. Notepad2 (my lightning-fast editor of choice) acts like it is saving the file, but when I close the file and check, nothing has changed.

I don't know if it is possible to make this work the right way, but if it is possible, it would be most awesome.

At least, if it isn't possible, FC should tell us that the changes can't be saved...

That would be awesome, but I don't think it is possible, since FC opens the archived files as temporary, read-only files.

But a warning message should be added.
