If the shortcut from FreeCommander (I had only one) is removed, the entire file "FreeCommander.shc" is deleted, even though the file still contained the shortcuts of the Viewer!!

Sorry, it was not exactly. The shortcuts are saved in the freecommander.shc.
Unfortunately, there was no file "freecommander.shc".

I managed to create it, though, by setting a new shortcut in FreeCommander (not in Viewer), by going to Tools->Define keyboard shortcuts.

I have updated to the latest public version (635) and the problem remains. Whatever shortcuts I set in the viewer are not saved.

As for your last question - I have tried with other shortcuts for the FreeCommander main window.
They work as expected. When I define a new shortcut - a file appears in the Settings folder (FreeCommander.shc) with the newly defined keyboard shortcut and action. And the shortcut works accordingly and ...

I can't try the latest version, since 621 is the latest publicly available (and I'm not a donor). I'll try it when the next public version will be available.
