I've been going over this quirk again and I've discovered that the error is completely mine! My inclination is to just quietly slink off but I couldn't let such a great app's reputation be maligned due to nothing more than my over-complicated file system. Too many devices, too many directory copies ...

Thanks for answering E.M. Well, wouldn't ya know it...it's listing the folders today that it wouldn't display yesterday. I should have mentioned in my first post that I did check to see if, somehow, the hidden attribute had been checked and it hadn't. As far as permissions go, I'm the only user and ...

FC2009 not displaying all sub-folders in directory

Yep, that did it.
Thanks, Karol, that works fine. I'd checked all the settings pages before posting and still feel the "customize folder" option might have been a bit more obvious, but it's there, where you said it was. Thanks for responding so quickly.

Edit FreeCommander.ini?
Does FreeCommander support custom backgrounds? After a while, I find the white background too bright. If the FreeCommander.ini would support a customized background, can someone help with the correct syntax? I've tried the usual changes that work in Windows Explorer.ini, but no luck. I'd really ...

Expandable Folders Pane
How do I switch the left pane to the traditional Windows Explorer expandable folders pane? I have 2 copies of Free Commander, one of them is in this view mode. I can't find how to change the other FC into that view. Thanks.
