Ctrl+left-click works good here (Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit).
Good to know that this isn't a bug of my valued FreeCommander.
If you're using NC-Mode, make sure the option "Extended selection with Shift and Ctrl" (in Settings > Select items) is enabled.
