This looks to be an issue due to some conflicting features. I've suggested the possible solution towards the end. So here goes :

My opinion, I'm not using system tray for most programs just for the strange and different behavior.

FC tray icon should minimize to tray/restore with single click, without option (start new instance could be in the context menu as option, if needed).

That behaviour is standardized but only for icons on the task bar.
From there it also works for the FC.


It'd be good to have it for the Tray Icon as well.

I have re-phrased. Please check.

Current Behavior :
When the option "Handle closing as minimization" is set (option checked), both :
1. close via Window X button AND
2. File -> Exit,
result in minimizing FC to system tray.

Desired Behavior :
But the functionality File -> Exit should not behave that way. File -> Exit should ...

It would be good to have toggling of FC window between Maximize and Minimize when clicking on the FC icon in tray.
That is when the FC icon in the system tray is clicked once, it maximizes (if it is minimized) and minimizes (if it is maximized).

Build 861 32 works fine on Windows 10 and fail on Windows 7.

With the above elaborate discussion, I'd think the issue should be clear to you. Could you please confirm that ?

Now the question that naturally arises is, if something's working well on Windows10 the same should work for Windows7 both 32 and 64 bit, unless it's really a platform ...

I never run into such problems with any of my file managers including FC.
I always save settings manual and not by any automatic function.
So if a crash appears nothing bad happens and all is as saved last time.
Also I can of course restore settings from the past for any of my tools.
