pane is not activated on double-click tab creation

I have turned on the option "Activate window when clicking on its tab" and every mouse click on the inactive pane (including its tab bar) activates it.
That is except for the double-click, which creates a new tab, but doesn't activate the pane.
This is a bug, right?
