When I select a few folders containing files and folders and I want to search for * with "Search in selectec files/folders"active nothing happens.
I do not get a search result. I seems that this function is not working anymore since x releases ago. I use the latest release 749. This issue I also noticed in version 748.

No such problem here with FreeCommander XE 2017 Build 749 64-bit donor.
I guess you have something strange set under Timestamp/Size/Attr or Filters

I found something more that supports my findings.
When I select a couple of folders, open the search dialog and set the required options to do my search I don't get any results.
After that I disabled the option: "Search in selected files/folders" and to the search again, than I get results.

When I enable the "Search in selected files/folders" option again it is working properly, even when changing all my search options.

So, I think it is a sort of bug with a workaround of disabling and enabling of the "Search in selected files/folders" option.

Added: Maybe I don't get it. I open FreeCommander, select some folders and open the search dialog. In filename I use the * and all options are default.
No results. After I disable the Search in selected files/folders I get some results. After I enable the option I get an error message:

I created a bugreport that I can send to a developer. I will not posted on this forum.
