The registry key helps my to find a strange bug in our tool which only occurs if high addresses are used. So in my opinion this registry entry is very helpful for software developers.
FreeCommander is the only tool on my computer which crashes if this registry key is set so I suggest Marek to look for the reason.

As a developer I would not spend time for such research because you are alone with such strange environment.
But may be Marek has free time for investigation.
