Can i also change these white area's to black?

Try to play with Tools - View style - Gradient Custom http://www.freecommander.com/fchelpxe/en/Viewstyle.html

Some areas are very hard or impossible to change.

Anyway, you can change the status bar background here:

settings > view > status bar > color > background start / stop

Quick filter background here:

settings > quick search/filter/starter > Edit field (icon on the left)
