Not responding more and more often

I am using FreeCommander XE 2015 Build 685 32-bit public on a variety of computers, Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8.1 and 10. I switched to it from Powerdesk due to long freezes where it was not responding. This is happening more and more often with FC. I use FC for copying and moving (not Windows). It happen even when just single clicking on a file as well as when dragging and dropping. It doesn't always happen, seemingly random. I often delete my Prefetch folder contents, thinking that will rewrite how Windows accesses various program.

Any suggestions in settings changes?

First of all try latest FreeCommander XE 2016 Build 715 32-bit public or FreeCommander XE 2016 Build 716 32-bit public beta version from here http://freecommander.com/en/downloads/

If you have donor access, it's even better to test latest FreeCommander XE 2016 release 717 donor version.
In 717 implemented: New method for Copy/Move operation performed by FC added (Vista+ only)

Thanks - it's been much better using the donor version. Such pauses are barely long enough for me to notice them. I do have tons of data and program on my computer, all necessary for what I do. That causes pauses too, I imagine.
