FreeCommr XE 32 Public Portable Zip same as installed vers?

I have just discovered FreeCommander. I think I will love it.
I especially like the idea of the FreeCommander portable zip file version that does not require installation to run.
But does the portable zip download version have the same functionality and speed as the installed FreeCommander version?
Any input appreciated.
