syncronize copy - auto rename target item

In the process of translating, I did a short test.
When syncronize folder, I checked 'syncronize copy - auto rename target item' option and click [ok]. But nothing happened.
'syncronize copy - overwrite target item' option worked well.
Does anyone confirm this ?
