Some UI innovations from Directory Opus

#1 Post by Timon » 12.05.2015, 08:31

People much talk about what can be taken from Directory Opus. While inspecting What's New Miscellaneous Changes found some good UI innovations

Full text could be found here http://www.gpsoft.com.au/help/opus11/in ... hanges.htm

Here is the main

- The Replace File dialog makes it easier to identify the largest and newest of the two files

The "clock" icon indicates which of the two files is the most recently modified (the newer) and the "size" icon indicates which of the two files is the larger.
Now in FC XE if old file is newer, then new one, "Modifiied" is shown bold for old file, but no indication for size. Using icons allow to make all even more clear.

- Option to replace existing file when renaming

If a Rename operation fails because the new name already exists, there is now the option to replace the existing file.

Look at Skip and Replace buttons. They are made as a drop-down buttons in Directory Opus. Currently, in the same FC XE dialog there are 6 buttons displayed and 3 more are called from More options.
