Using Panel Linking to find same filenames

In FC there is the option for panel-linking where FC will select the same files in both panels if their filenames match.
I have two concerns:
First, when I select a file in panel1, the file in panel2 is selected too, but it is hard to see.
Can I change the colour of the selected file?
Second, if I select a file in panel1 but it does not exist in panel2, the last file I selected there remains selected.
This is a problem because now the two files are NOT the same.
I suggest that if, when you have panel-linking enabled, that if you select a file in panel1 and it does NOT exist in panel2 that the selection gets cleared.
That way there is no confusion with matching the files.
