I'd like FreeCommander to show me a tree view, which I have done using View->Tree
I don't need the extra panel, so I selected View->Dual/One Panel

My problem is that I can't switch between the Tree and Panel using my keyboard. "Tab" no longer does anything.

Interestingly, if I open the Favorites (View->Favorites Tree) I can switch, but ONLY by holding down Shift and pressing tab. (Plain Tab still does nothing).

Is there a way to switch between the Tree and the One Panel that I've got open (using my keyboard)

Shift+Tab switches focus between (opened) Tree, Favorites tree and Active/single panel.
Tab switches focus between the 2 panels.

Aha - that clarifies things a lot!

Is it possible to rebind those keys?

I found the Tools->Define Keyboard Shortcuts, but when I try to assign something to 'Tab' by pushing the tab key the focus instead shifts to the next widget in that dialog.

Actually, I think I spoke too soon.

When I went back to my PC and tried it out I found that neither Tab, nor Shift+Tab switches between my Tree view and my One Panel.

(Also - I can't find Shift+Tab listed anywhere in the Tools -> Define Keyboard Shortcuts list anywhere - could that be the problem? If so, what command should I bind to Shift+Tab)

Those are internal hotkeys, can't be changed yet.

Ok, I just downloaded, installed, and ran FC XE 2014 Build 665 Public Beta.

Still on an x86 laptop running Windows 8.1

I've got the Favorites, Tree and One Panel open and both Tab and Shift-Tab don't seem to do anything. Nothing happens regardless of which window has the focus.


BTW - is there a 'system info' tool that I could run to get you guys better info about my computer? If you've got a tool that'll produce a .TXT file with that I'd be happy to run it & send it to you (if you wanted to - I don't know if this is too early/too much info/etc )

First thing to try: download and test the portable version (don't extract it on the system's partition) with default settings.

Second: wait for someone with Windows 8 to test (I don't have access to this OS).

Shift+Tab works fine on Win8 too.

Aaaaaand I think I was using CONTROL+Tab, not Shift+Tab. It's now working great!
