Dual monitor problem with copy address menu.

#1 Post by DeepAnger » 06.11.2014, 20:11

Hi All, Hi Marek,

After years of testing I recently decided to make FreeCommanderXE64 my main file manager/explorer.
At first, I thought that the function that allows to display/copy a complete file path by adding a \ at the end of the address field was missing.
It only displays sub-folders while windows ms explorer displays everything (including files) in the drop down list. Is there a way to emulate what the ms explorer does in this case ?

Then I found that FreeCommanderXE64 had a dedicated menu at the far right of the address toolbar/field. That would be good enough I thought. But I realized that on my main computer the menu was never displayed. It worked on other computers but not at home. Why ?

Because I have a dual monitor setup, with the main monitor on the left and a larger TV screen on the right (which is off most of the time). I switched on the second monitor and I saw that this menu was displayed off screen, that is, on the second monitor, even if it is not powered on.

Even if FreeCommanderXE64 isn't in full screen mode, it decides to display this menu completely in the second (non visible) monitor;

Note : on the right part of these screenshots, I opened a windows ms explorer near the left border of the second (right) monitor (but not in full screen mode) just to show the problem because when the second monitor is off, there are no reason for it to have anything on it.
It happens, whether FreeCommanderXE is full screen or windowed. I reproduced the problem on a computer with only an integrated Intel video and on a dedicated NVIDIA video card.
If FreeCommanderXE64 is near the right border, the menu is displayed on the other monitor (at far right) even when it's turned off.

Is there a workaround ? Is it a bug ?

This is under windows 7 64.
I'd rather have it displayed on the screen where the program main window is.

Thank you for your time.

Hello All,

Sorry for replying to myself but it appears the problem has been fixed in the latest version XE 2015 Build 680.

Thank you very much Marek.
