Custom Splitter Bar Buttons

Can I add custom buttons to the splitter bar?
You can add any of the FC's internal commands directly to the splitter bar, but not your own.
Workaround: use the Favorite tools button to open an additional menu where you can add anything.
Would be nice to be able to integrate a favorite toolbar with the splitter bar.
