I've noted an issue - not sure if it quite qualifies as a 'bug' - in the latest release version of FC (2007.10a). I'm not sure if the issue detailed below has been noted previously; a quick search of the forum did not turn up any relevant hits.
FC connects to "unprotected" network (SMB) shares without any serious problems. However, if I attempt to connect (that is, "Connect to network drive") to a share that is not configured for "guest" access by default, the connection fails after a fairly long (~1 min) "hang". This is not entirely unexpected. What is unexpected is the lack of a standard Windows username/password prompt. FC simply does not give me the opportunity to provide login/access credentials to protected network resources. Contrast this with the behavior of the standard Windows Explorer FM, which will prompt me for a user/pass whenever I attempt to connect to a non-guest-access share.
Note that if I use Windows Explorer to connect to the protected share, FC will allow me to access that share (if it has already been assigned to a drive letter) without any problems. It is only during the initial connection (e.g. after a reboot or new user login) where I experience problems. Again, the key here is that FC is not issuing the standard Windows user/pass authentication dialog when I attempt the initial connection.
Cannot connect to network shares that require a password
