In the listing panel, set to list view, anytime there are parenthesis in the name, they are displayed with weird spacing.
But that isn't the case in the string:

In this image you can see both the file with it's name dispayed (top left) and the real name in the renaming dialogue.
It's been this way for a long time, and is in 629.

I can't confirm in 630 (probably not released yet), I tried with my settings and default settings.

Try default settings:

/N /NewIni=FreeCommanderTest.ini /NoPlugins /Lng=English

Ah, never thought of doing that.
Okay, no problems in the test.

The problem was with the display font. I was using Arial Unicode.
When I changed to Arial Regular, it displayed correctly.
