626 - removable storage device in closed tab looked for

I happened to grab some images of my cameras memory card today.
It went well, then I closed the tab for removable drive H: on my machine and selected safely remove hardware to release the card from the OS and removed the card.

I then quit freecomander, 10 min later I started XE again and it complained with the error dialog.

"There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk5\DR5"
Cancel / Try Again / Continue
- pressing any of 3 buttons then loads Freecommander.

If I insert the memory card again i get no error.
It appears to me that freecommander is remembering access to drive H: and trying to access it on startup despite having closed the tab.
I do notice that a field "History0=H:\" is written to FreeCommander.ini, which is the only reference i can find in XE's state to drive H:

Hope i have supplied sufficient information to help.
I am on windows 7 64 bit.
The card reader i use is a multi card reader that is part of my Dell U2410 monitor.
In this case H: drive allways exists, but only has a drive if a card is plugged in and not safely removed from OS.

yours sincerely,
Robin
