The "Search File/Folders" command uses the settings as-is on the time of opening the "Search File/Folders" windows.

Example,
- when starting the "Search File/Folders" the check box in the convertor tab is not set for the filter "*.doc;*.docx;*.xls;*.xlsx;" (donor option to search in offices files)
- before pushing "Find" the check box as mentioned above is set. The converter is not active during the search.
After checking the check box as mentioned above you have to close the "Search File/Folders" window and reopen it, before the converter becomes active.

As I understand your report, the converter does not become active until the Search dialog has been closed and reopened.

Are there any other Search settings which also don't work until Search is reopened, or is the problem specific to the converter? Thanks.

Changing the settings in the tabs "Location", "Timestamp...", "Filters" seems to work without reopening Search (I don't use profiles).
