Multi rename - How to use?

Hi, newbie to Freecommander here.
Firstly, my gratitude to Marek on a great piece of software.
I have installed the help file but cannot find any information about using multi rename.
Essentially, I want to rename all the files with the extension .pspimage to .psp
The file finder finds them so I know how many there are (hundreds)
I tried using the default settings in multi rename and put *.pspimage in the "Search for" and *.psp in the "Replace with" boxes, checking replace all occurrences and ignore case.
It does not appear to work but I guess I'm doing something wrong.
Any help or guidance gratefully received and acknowledged.
