Can't save/restore settings

Version 600 can't save or restore settings. If i close FC it resets to the default setting even so in the settings folder are the files with the restored old setting. Tested on windows xp. The problem occurred when i tried to change the location of the Settings folder to the FC installation folder. After this when i restart it the settings were reset to default.
