Hi!

I come from Taiwan, and my habitful language is Chinese Traditional.
I meet one program that if I want to add one folder (this folder have over two Chinese words), and then the FC will say can not find the folder.

And in my favorite folder...it just appear two Chinese word, can not display all the floder name.

Example: my folder's name is "小型軟體" (big5) and I add this folder to my favorite folder.But FC can only display two word "小型"(big5) and then, FC says it can not find the folder "小型"(big5).

Know what I say??

FreeCommander is non-unicode program. You have to tell windows what language to use for non-unicode applications:
- In Windows XP select Start menu -> Settings -> Control Panel.
- In the Control Panel select Regional and Language Options.
- Select the Advanced tab.
- Set the Language for non-Unicode programs to the correct language.

Hi. I am Taesoo Kwon who posted a bug report yesterday.
Today, I found that this post is quite related to my post. I am sorry.
YSL's test case didn't work for me either. (In my case korean letters are used rather than chinese ones.)
So I tried your suggestions, but didn't fix the problem. (language option was already correctly set).

Multibyte characters work fine in freeCommander except only for the favorites menu.
As a programmer, I guess that there is a problem in counting the number of characters.

In my tests,
"ABCD" is recognized as "AB", and
"ABC" is recognized as "A", and
"AB C" is recognized as "AB"
"ABCDDD" is recognized as "ABC", where A, B, C, and D are 2-byte characters while " " is a 1-byte character.

It seems to me that the program is correctly counting the number of characters, however incorrectly interpreting it as # of bytes.

I find even if I set the language as "Chinese(china)", FC still cann't find the folder if the address of the folder contains Chinese words.

I have found the bug. It will be fixed in the next beta.
