Network access not just FTP

Alot of File Managers are now allowing access to network drives, either wired or wireless, just as though they were attached as local drives, could this feature be implemented, please?

Sorry I found where this feature is turned on, I wonder why it's not on by default.
For anyone wanting this feature its in:
Extras -> Settings -> View -> Drives -> Check "Show Network as Drive"
