[FIXED] Wish: DEL will clear filter

#1 Post by Scott_Y » 25.07.2012, 19:17

Current operation of the Filter:
(1) When the filter dialog is first opened, the "Show only the following files" box is empty, and no filter is applied.
(2) When the filter dialog is opened after a filter has been applied, the text in that box is highlighted.
(3) Deleting the highlighted text does not turn off the filter, i.e. it does not return to status (1).
Instead, the filter can be turned off or cleared only by clicking on the *.* All Files button.

Wish: Deleting the highlighted text in (3) will turn off the filter, returning to status (1).

This would be more intuitive because both (1) and (3) show a blank text box, hence the filter should be off in both cases.
It would also be faster and easier because the filter could be turned off with DEL on text which is already highlighted, ready for action.

Not working in 600 (Win7-64), and now with a bug.
If I delete the text in the "Show only the following files" box, then click OK, nothing changes. When I reopen the Filter dialog, the same text is entered in the box (delete had no effect on the filter). The only way to deactivate the filter is still to click the "*.* All Files" button.

You are right, it is not correctly for the mouse click on OK. It works for ENTER key.

Click on OK now works correctly in FC 601. Thank you, Marek!
