Hi,

The synplus plugin is quite slow on the beta, orders of magnitude so. You can see FC redrawing the entire thing. The immediacy of a lister with syntax highlighting is the only reason (for me) to use one instead of an editor.
Is this because of the 64-bit app, 32-bit plugin mismatch? Any workarounds?

actually, the default lister is much, much slower than the standard 32 bit freecommander and TC. Any way to get the same performance?

You use probably the public release 532. It should be already fixed in the current release 540.
The next public version will be released soon.

No, I'm using 540. It's fantastically slow, like one second to open even a 1kb text file. This is on an i7 with 16Gb ram. TC flies. I can enable this mouse-activation thing, and the lister gets refreshes as I move the mouse. FC 32 bit is pretty snappy too.

I think it was the compile problem. I have uploaded the release 541 ( only as zip file ). Could you check it?

Checked, still the same. Def. lister takes ~1sec to open a txt file.

I harmonize with your conclusions and will keenly look further to your future updates.

Nope, it is as slow as before. Sorry about the bad news.

Maybe I'm not using the quick viewer?
Just so you know the speed I experience in FC 32bit and TC...
With 'select on hoover, delay = 0ms'(TC, not possible in FC), I move my mouse and the changes in the viewer are instantaneous.
I'm sure this is possible in XE... or am I wrong?

You can try to decrease the timer value (the default value is 400):

If you are talking about something syn-specific, I'm sorry to say it affects all listers, even the default one...

You should define StatusBarTimerInterval in the freecommader.ini:
[Form]
StatusBarTimerInterval=100

The same for me. This is the only problem I found on using this excellent program.
