Currently you can set one global viewer for files (all) and editor per each file type.
It would be more useful if user could set those (viewer and editor) per each type independently, for example:
TYPE VIEWER EDITOR
*.xml xml_viewer.exe xml_editor.exe
*.txt ____________ notepad.exe
*.cs visual_studio.exe visual_studio.exe
Space left means using default viewer or editor, depending in which column it is left.

It is already implemented in the new version.

The "New" FC version is the current released version: 2009.02a
You can get it now! Note... Though you are associating a "Viewer", the viewer could be, and usually is, the file-type editor of your choice.
It works exactly as you requested, and as illustrated by Marek.

Hi wiley,
the screenshot is not of 2009-02a but of "new alpha-version 2010".

For now there is the possibility to set different editors for each filetype but there is no free definition of viewers for special filetypes.
(You can use the viewers for text, rtf, picture, media, internet or external plugin).
In the new alpha-version you'll be able to define own programs for each filetype.

I think what Marek is telling you is that the freedom to identify a universal viewer of your choice is already built into the current version of FC. I may be mistaken, but I don't think his strategy is to arbitrarily build and maintain a dynamic editor/viewer as part of the FC feature set. Is there a more capable viewer than
ATViewer? If there is, can't it be attached to FC through the current built-in method?
