Hi,
when I install Free Commander and try and run it,Avast AV finds a virus in the application executable.I try and repair it but it can't do it. The virus that it says it finds is Win32:Prorat-I [Trj].Has anyone else come up with this problem? The archive was downloaded from the home site.

When you downloaded the file? Do you have the latest anivirus database? There is a known issue with older version, but it should be sloved now.

Hello,
i got also a virus-warning during the Download.
I tried to download the Portable-EXE (
http://www.freecommander.com/FreeComman ... 2a.paf.exe) and the ZIP-File (
http://www.freecommander.com/FreeCommander200902a.zip). Both have the same warning.
My AV-Program is TrendMicro OfficeScan.
Here the warning:
The
PAK_Generic.005 was found in file "FCIcons.dll
The
PAC_Generic.001 was found in file "FCSFJ.BIN"
I hope, this helps a bit.
Best regards
Hardy

The files are clean.
Here are the md5 sums:
2ADE8D3388D94156103FD835F4528D0F FCIcons.dll
6621B9012163A6782EF7DE97E6E2B340 FCSFJ.BIN
The files are only compressed with UPX packer.

My fresh install of 2009.02 in a brand new system build gives a Trojan detect from MSSE
TrojanClicker:Win32/Yabector.gen
Containerfile C:Program Files/Free Commander/FC_setup_.zip->fc_setup.exe->(inno#000051)->(nsis-1-eBayShortcuts.exe)
We'd appreciate it if the FC marketing people were careful what they included as tool bars and other toxic waste. I'll start a new thread on this.
