Hi, I'm sure this has been asked before, but I have been removing things and changing stuff to make FC more suitable for myself, but because I'm very new to it, I'm not sure if I have missed something or removed something that I shouldn't.

The point is, when in Win7, you can't see the size of folder contents in explorer, or the remaining free space of the drive you're at. All the status bar tells you is how many items there are in that folder. So FC was the best choice because it does give you this info, but how do I browse to the contents of my recycle bin. I need to know how big the contents of the recycle bin is, is there any way to see the contents of the recycle bin in FreeCommander, if not, I have to go looking for an alternative again... [sigh]

The recicle bins of all users are located under the hidden system folder C:\$RECYCLE.BIN (in Vista, Win7 I don't know)
Your recycle bin is the one folder with the recycle bin icon.

Or right click on the red X-Symbol in the toolbar and chose "open"

Yes, I have tried your suggestions, but when rightclicking on the red x and open, the windows bin opens and I still can't see the size of the contents, going to the $recycle folder in FC still doesn't show the contents as it is protected in win7 most likely, all I see is a lock icon on the folder and when I double click on it, I get to see some system files, not the files I have deleted. Really annoying, I'm going to try to upgrade to windows xp as soon as I get the chance...

I don't think so, even Vista is not that bad, some features are very useful and Seven should be even better and - what is more important, also faster.

Well, it depends on what you are used to. They just keep changing some stuf which seem to be random and not have anything to do with performance. With Vista for example they changed a lot of stuff that were not necessary and added a lot of stuff that wasn't necessary, it's not the fact that vista or 7 are newer of faster that makes you go crazy, it's all the little annoyances that together make your life into hell, especially if you are not only working but almost living behind your pc. If there is a deadline and your pc interferes with your work ALL the time, then something must have gone wrong. Don't get me wrong, I agree that 7 looks much better than xp and has a few improvements, but the downsides are much bigger than the candycoating and the little speed you gain... in my honest opinion anyway. But again, if you are a very casual pc user, probably you won't mind the little changes that much and like win7...

I have Windows Vista and i don´t know how I erase the recycle bin from my desktop and I can find it in my computer. This is kind of weird...Can anyone help me??

It's OT, but ... Right click on desktop > Personalize > Change desktop icons > enable "Recycle bin" checkbox.
