Quickview and .doc files

Hello,:

My project is to make a database with the OS : including a lot of files in different formats, ie PDF and DOC files, in different directories, and easy visualise then using Freecommander.

FC is very good for that because many things can be programming. Yet, I can select a file whith the mouse without clicking on it and have a quickwiew in the right side of FC (readable and complete), and this view autoclose when selecting another file, that is displayed, fluently.

It works very well with all kind of files, exept the .doc

I have office 2003. When selecting a .doc file, this damned MS Word open one or two temporary files and that makes jump all the list of files (if classified by dates), witch is, for me, very annoying.
So, I have also Open office that make de same thing with temporary file. But MS WordView not.

Ok, I have attributed to .doc files MSwordView as default program. Then, in quickView, FC opens . doc file with it, BUT NOT IN THE RIGHT WINDOWS OF FREECOMMANDER AS MSWORD, BUT IN THE CENTER OF THE SCREEN. AND THIS WINDOW DO NOT CLOSE WHEN I SELECT AN OTHER FILE.

I try on several PC, on several OS, always the same problem: Only MS Word makes the correct quickview of .doc files: Abiword, OpenOffice, MS WordView display the quick view in the center of the screen, and can’t close when an new file is selected, even on PC where MS Word is not installed.

Anyone knows an issue or is it a bug ?

(I have tried plugins, but they can only display then text of the files, and not the complete shape of the .doc files)

More info

Using OpenOffice as defaut program for .doc files gives this:
- no problem when quickviewwing .odt files
- previous discriebed bug when quickviewwing .doc files

whith the same swiewer, without changing its parameters.

The problem could be relative to the call of filters used by this kind of program...

This bug if also present in XYplorer.
I think this is a problem in the wiewer utility.
I solve my problem by hidind the hidden files.
But the command was hidden

1. Go to Extras->Define shortcuts
2. Find 'View - Show/hide hidden and system files' and define a shortcut

Yes, FreeCommander is the best

More info :
It’s also possible to hide the hiden files in settings/view and uncheck “show hidden files”

Another bug for quickviewing the .doc files (with word) and its issue:

When display with thumbnails and select a .jpg ou .pdf file, no problem.
But when select and display a .doc file, the file is displayed for a second only, then the window with thumbnails is actualised and the quickview turns gray and display the information of then parent directory !
Issue: Setting/Base one instance. Reboot
Automatic drives actualisation: uncheck internal and network

IT WORKS. I can see the quick view of all files, including the .odt on XP, with a wiewing bug on Vista.
To view the thumbnail of .pdf Acrobat reader must be installed, even if Foxit is the default programm for PDF
To view the thumbnail of .odt, OpenOffice works well.
To view the thumbnail of .doc, Word 2003 works, BUT only some .doc files can show thumbnails:
For making a visible thumbnail, in Word: Files/properties/summary then check “save image of quickview”, then save
