Saving preferences of copying

When I want to change preferences of copying/moving files from shift+F5/shift+F6 to F5/F6, I change it in Preferences > Confirmation and then I click "save preferences" item in "tools" menu. The problem is, that after every new start of FC I have to change it - the program does not remember it. I don't want the confirmation window after pressing F5/F6. How to change this option permanently?
I'm using FC 2009.02.

Is it working before the restart? You have to click the icon next to "Change hotkeys" text. Then, you can also use option Auto save settings in settings > general. If you're using Windows Vista, try to run the program as admin. Also make sure only one instance is running.

1. I have Win xp and only one FC is running
2. "autosave setting" is always checked
3. practically I don't have to change anything - it is enough to open the preferences window (all the options - confirmations and autosave are set properly) and press ok. Then F5 and F6 work without confirmation. Till the restart it works, and after a restart works not.
4. On a new start of FC F5 and F6 have confirmations, and when I open the preferences F5 and F6 are set to work without confirmation.

Strange, no problem here. Did you click that icon/button? Radio buttons ( ( ) / (o) ) are for drag and drop only, the icon buttons are for the shortcuts. You must have this in the settings:
(o) no ask (F5)
If so, it's really strange, try to reinstall the program and/or backup and delete the settings file (FreeCommander.ini).
BTW - there is always a dialog shown for the archive files (unpacking), there is no way to disable this dialog AFAIK.
