File Copy - wrong message of 'no space'

#1 Post by maa » 14.01.2009, 14:30

Hi, great program I'm getting exited by all the possibilities!

One strange BUG:

I wanted to copy a backup file from a USB drive to another HD
The file is 13Giga nd the free space 20 Giga
Freecommander comes with a 'Not enough space' dialog and offers some clean up routines.
FreeCommander will copy this file over the network but NOT to any other partition on any internal or external HD

Cheers

FC has no own copy-routine, so I think it's windows that gives you the 'Not enough space' dialog and offers some clean up routines.

Is it possible to copy the file with windows explorer?
Regards

Ah - I'll have to try again with Explorer - I just used TotalCommander which I was using untill recently - it didn't mind.

Found the bug.
Sorry its my fault really - the destination partition was FAT32 and can't take a 13Giga file.

Makes one wonder though who writes the silly error messages.
Maybe Freecommander could detect this user error before Windows does?

Cheers
