I run windoze xp pro-sp2 with a brico pack using rocket dock. I seem to be getting a lot of "sorry, windoze explorer has a problem......" lately. I get some on other machines but this one I use the most, also the problem happens more often when I have a copy open on each of my dual monitor setup.

I have been replacing windoze programs with open source/freeware as much as possible I thought I would try FC. I think I also saw something about it being different from windoze explorer in that if it crashes, it does not bring down your entire system like windeoze explorer does.

Hang in there, I am getting to the point, just some background first in case it might help you help me.

I really like the way windoze explorer opens, you get my computer, my documents, my network places all under desktop.

So, is this possible with the vast number of features in FC and if so, would some kind sole please give me explicit (noobee) instructions?

Unfortunately there is no direct access to My Computer and the other Explorer objects you have mentioned. There is however a work around mentioned here (viewtopic.php?t=1460&highlight=computer) that may be of assistance.

Marek has announced the closure in development of the current FC run after the release due early this year. He has also indicated he will be developing a completely new application at a later date. See here (viewtopic.php?t=1541) for further information.

Your support for the addition of My Computer functionality under the first link may help in getting this added to either the current or future application.

As another option, there is an icon with the picture of a windows folder with a red S and a downward pointing arrow in the top right corner. This will give you most of the things you are looking for.
