Hi Marek,
why You develop own FTP/SFTP plugin? You can use existing third-part application for it. For example WinSCP.
I use WinSCP for several years. Its excelent free FTP,SFTP and SCP client. WinSCP exist as plugin for filemanagers too. Here is 2 implementation: http://winscp.net/eng/docs/fm_plugins

Marek, please think about using WinSCP or another application for implementation to FreeCommander as FTP/SFTP plugin.

I second this, there is a horrible timeout issue in the current FTP, it would be much better to allow 3rd party FTP plugins such as WinSCP.
