Hello,
I like to have only the things I need on my desktop, but automated software updates regularly create their icons on the public desktop. As in this environment, I don't have write permissions on that directory, I cannot delete those icons easily. My workaround was to also remove read access and now I don't see the public icons anymore.
FreeCommander (64 bit, 936) probably wants to show the contents of both the user's desktop and the public desktop, and therefore at each start of FC, I get a Windows dialog complaining about missing permissions. I have to cancel that. "View > Tree > Management > Base folder" is set to "computer", so the desktop isn't even shown.
It would help me if FC could first check if the user has permission to access "C:\Users\Public\Desktop" or if there was a configuration option to disable using the public desktop.
Thanks =)
Feature request: FC asking for permission to acccess "C:\Users\Public\Desktop" on startup
