Locked Tab optimal marker

Users can choose at
Tools > Settings > View > Folder > Folder Tabs > Tab Management > Mark locked tabs with this character
if some indicator is to appear before name of each Tab that gets Locked. For the longest time I was using the bullet point sign
because it is:
● clearly visible
● nice looking
● I never saw it being used in an item's name
In fact it is so good that I started using it as replacement for the exclamation sign, which I [and many other people] insert in front of item's names in order for them to be visibly stored before all other items. So now I get confused within my Tabs because sometimes ordinary Tabs look like Locked ones. Plus I want to save horizontal space - and thus I need a replacement
The apostrophe sign
seems to take least space - but it comes with a trade-off: because it is placed too close to names, which makes the whole Tab bar with multiple Locked Tabs look too cramped
So another alternative is the upper dot sign
which still saves space when used instead of bullet point character
Also the asterisk sign
seems to be a good choice, because it also saves almost as much space - but it is more visible. Plus it has the great advantage of being an illegal character, which means it will never be seen in a name of a folder thus confuse user
But does anyone have other already tested out [during real] usage solutions to this conundrum of saving as much as possible of horizontal space while retaining readability of Tab's names?
