Key combination duplicate

Using build 921, public, x32.

Alt + F should be assigned by default to open the File menu, since letter F is underlined.
But when user presses Alt + F, Favorites panel opens to the left of the window.

Shouldn't these two use diffeent keyboard shortcuts?

You are right.

However, it's not easy to find other keyboard shortcuts than Alt+ and in other languages Alt menu shortcuts could be different, use any letter, so all Alt+ shortcuts would be unusable.

Workaround - you can just click Alt, release Alt and press F, to get menu item File.

Thanks, I know about the workaround, it is an obvious one.
I was just pointing out that it is not normal to have the same key conbination for different functions.

Suggestion
Ctrl + Shift + F - opens the favorites editor window
Ctrl + Alt + F - could open the favorites panel, replacing the confusing Alt + F

Would it work?

As I said, in other languages Alt menu shortcuts could be different, use any letter, so all Alt+ shortcuts would be unusable.

Therefore, all Al+ shortcuts must be changed and it's just impossible.

Another problem, shortcuts like Ctrl+Shift+ or Ctrl+Alt+ are often used as global shortcuts in some programs, so they are working anytime, so it could cause conflicts.

Another reason to not change existing keyboard shortcuts - users are used to them, they exist for years, even 10+ years.

Of course, you can change them, if you want.
