Opening search dialog is very slow

This is not the newest laptop, but still, opening the search dialog shouldn't take 7 seconds.
Doesn't matter in which directory I try this. General use of FC is as expected without any delays.

What might cause this?

FreeCommander XE 2024 Build 904 64-bit donor
Win 10 Pro, 22H2
Intel Core i5-3210M CPU @ 2.50GHz
16 GB RAM

7 seconds for the search dialog is really long time.
With "Tools->Start new instance of FreeCommander with default settings" you can start clean FreeCommander.
Try it and check the search dialog with default settings.

As yesterday was patchday, I have rebooted my laptop and now the dialog opens in 2-3 seconds (doesn't matter if using the default settings instance). Didn't think that this could be influenced by this so I didn't test before.

Normally, I only reboot on patchday and use hibernation mode to shutdown at the end of the day, so the system is running for quite some time. Memory usage is reported as 83 Mb. Will check this again in some weeks before the next reboot.

Rebooting Windows only every couple of weeks?

I never heard of such brave modus operandi

Probably wouldn't have tried this with Win XP ;-)
