My modus operandi relays heavily on the convenient usage of Splitter - thus I always took great care to have it tip top condition. But now I have noticed two big glitches:

A] Whenever I turn on its option

Define action toolbars > Options > Show captions

and then turn it back off then my Splitter becomes messed up with all unnecessary excess margins between its Items. And this is happening despite option

Define action toolbars > Options > Button spacing (0 = auto-relocate)

staying with the same value of 0 [which value I have chosen a long very long time ago to save vertical space]. And the only way to restore my previous appearance of Splitter is to use the option of restoring of all settings


B] Me changing that value of

Define action toolbars > Options > Button spacing (0 = auto-relocate)

has no effect whatsoever, no matter if adjust it before or after mangling with that Show captions option



This is happening in both Build 900 64-bit Donor Portable and Build 880 32-bit Public Installed on Windows 10 Enterprise 20H2 x64

Probably confirmed, not sure if it's the same, to reproduce:
- use default settings
- in Define action toolbars, for Splitter use option "Show captions", "at the bottom"
- option "Use small font" can be enabled or disabled
= result is truncated captions and icons/buttons, even in maximized view and fullscreen mode

I tried to remove few buttons, resize window manually to max. height, still the same.

No problem here ("Use small font" disabled): Of course you should adjust the button size.

It seems that reducing the size of button does the trick

I would argue that there should be separate fields of

Button size
Button size - with captions turned on

so that users would not have to re-adjust that one which is available currently whenever they decide to test / check names of Items on Splitter
