QuickViewer slows down renaming

#1 Post by Raindrops » 29.12.2023, 05:44

I download many files from internet.
Most of them have a cryptic name, so I rename them after their title.
I use the QV to view the first page of the file, and copy the title from there.
Then I press F2 and paste the copied text in the file's name.
Then I press ENTER to complete the renaming operation.

At this point, QV does not let the renaming happen instantly. [PROBLEM]

- When QV is active, FC takes a few seconds to quit the edit mode.
- When QV is not active, the renaming finishes instantly.

So the question is, how do I make the renaming faster?
------------
Relevant details:

I have Windows 11 Home running on Acer Aspire A315-53 laptop, with i3-8130U CPU.
The OS is running in its dedicated SSD drive, and runs very fast.
The laptop has 12 GB RAM.
There is no stress on any resources (CPU, Memory, Disk) while I am running FC.
Just to confirm this, I have closed all other apps, but still face the same delay.

I have used the following extensions for QV:
1. Multimedia
2. sLister+SumatraPDF
3. uLister+OIT-VT

Logically speaking, the renaming delay could happen because the extension locks the file.
In that case, each extension should have a different renaming delay.
But the delay is practically the same for all extensions.

Basically, FC has no influence on the viewer behavior.
But I'm using ULister and SLister in Total Commander and FC
none of them has any delay renaming a file while it is previewed in the other window.
