Bug with 'multiple rename' tool (diacritics characters)

Hi All.

I have set a 'profile' in the 'multiple rename' tool in order to :

search for:
à|á|â|ä|å|é|è|ê|ë|î|í|ì|ï|ñ|ô|ó|ò|ö|ù|ú|û|ü|ÿ
replace with:
a|a|a|a|a|e|e|e|e|e|i|i|i|i|o|o|o|o|u|u|u|u|y
When I save this profile and want to use it (in the list of profiles either [enter] button or click on the 'tick mark' button), FreeCommander crashes, not everytime but most of the time. I haven't found when/why it crashes.

(using FreeCommander public version 880 on Win 11 pro 64 bits)

Thanks in advance.

Which files, types, how many files, are you using quick viewer in multi rename window?

I can't reproduce in version 2024 900 32-bit public, Windows 10 22H2 64-bit.

I tested also with more characters from this post.

Please try the new version.

Hi Dreamer, hi All.

There was only file selected when I launched the multi rename tool (CTRL+M) and indeed the quick viewer was enabled ; the filename was :
my_à_á_â_ä_å_é_è_ê_ë_ALWAYS_î_í_ì_ï_ñ_ô_ó_ò_ö_ù_ú_û_ü_ÿ_fiLE.txt
With version 2024 900 32-bit public, I did several tests and no further crash.

Many thanks for your hint. Funny, that my humble bug report collides with the annual release.

I am so happy about this file manager. Thank you Marek for keeping it alive for ~ 20 years.

Thanks Dreamer also for pointing to your post back in 2015 ; very useful.
