Thanks to Marek Jasinski for a wonderfully usable file management utility.

When viewing PDF files using thumbnail mode in FreeCommander XE 2023 (build 880 32-bit public) on Windows 10 22H2, with latest Adobe Acrobat (2023.006.20380) installed, the PDF thumbnails display nicely at any thumbnail size.

However, when a folder of PDF files is subsequently reloaded, the thumbnails continually re-draw, which takes a long time per folder view. Even if the folder has been viewed several times in the past few minutes, on reload it will show generic PDF file icons and then slowly re-draw the thumbnails once more.

This behavior does not occur in native Windows File Explorer windows. In Windows FE, the thumbnails are drawn once and then remain available for an indefinite period of time.

Is there a way to cause FreeCommander to cache its PDF thumbnails similar to native Windows FE?

Any thoughts?

Please check it in the current release 900.
To rule out settings problems, check with the new portable version.
FreeCommander use the Windows cache for thumbnails.

Even in FreeCommander XE 2024 Build 900 portable, the thumbnails redraw with every viewing of a folder of .pdf files.
Viewing the same folder in Windows File Explorer, the thumbnails will generate once and then be cached.

Any further thoughts on this issue?
